This coming week, LWVTX is issuing an Action Alert to support HB 12, which provides twelve months of postpartum healthcare to maternity Medicaid patients. It is moving to the Senate. The Texas Women’s Healthcare Coalition has asked LWVTX to reach out to our Senators between April 3rd – April 7th when the bill should be presented to that chamber.
HB 300 removes sales tax on diapers for infants and adults, baby wipes and bottles, menstrual supplies including tampons, sanitary pads and menstrual cups, maternity clothing, and products for pumping breast milk. It has been approved by the House and now moves to the Senate.
There has been no movement on bills pertaining to reproductive rights.
